Dubai OnlineUnited Arab Emirates, July 29, 2026 — The Office of the Trade Commissioner of Nauru announced the establishment of the Pacific Digital Assets Forum, an initiative focused on research, education and international dialogue concerning digital assets and digital finance.
Known as PDAF, the forum is led by founding chair Dadvan Yousuf and is intended to bring together policymakers, researchers, industry participants and other stakeholders to discuss regulatory developments, financial technology and responsible innovation.
The forum plans to support evidence-based discussion through research publications, educational programs and international engagement. Its activities will focus on improving access to information about digital-asset regulation and the development of digital finance across Pacific Island jurisdictions.
PDAF’s long-term program includes two planned initiatives: the Pacific Digital Assets Report and the Pacific Digital Assets Conference.
The Pacific Digital Assets Report is expected to examine regulatory developments, market trends and financial-technology innovation across participating jurisdictions. The publication will also include the planned Pacific Digital Assets Regulatory Index, which will provide a comparative overview of regulatory developments in the region.
The Pacific Digital Assets Conference is intended to provide an annual platform for policymakers, researchers and industry participants to exchange information, present research and discuss developments affecting digital assets and digital finance.
“Effective regulation is not a barrier to innovation. It creates the trust that innovation needs to grow,” Yousuf said. “Through the Pacific Digital Assets Forum, we aim to establish a platform that supports informed discussion, independent research and long-term international cooperation.”
The forum said its research and educational activities are intended to operate independently. Its publications and events will not represent official government policy unless expressly identified as such.
PDAF also plans to develop educational initiatives intended to support a clearer understanding of regulatory frameworks, market developments and emerging financial technologies.
